Pewter Modernist Serving Bowl
-
Detail
It wasnt just a dishit was an object of curiosity. Everyone asked about it. The smooth pewter curves, the way it moved like water frozen mid-pour. Some thought it looked like a cloud, others a melted sculpture. She used it for everything: apricots and olives at dinner, keys by the door, earrings and hair ties when she couldn't be bothered to put them away properly.
It wasnt precious in a dont-touch-that way. It was precious in the way good vintage isuseful, well-made, and strange enough to feel like it had a past life. Maybe it held candied ginger on a sideboard in Goa. Maybe it was a wedding gift no one understood in the 80s. Now it lived here, collecting quotidian objects and the occasional memento.
