Our Values
Creativity
The word "betsu" in Japanese conveys a sense of being different or special. Our goal is to deliver unique products, services, and experiences through innovative and creative thinking, collaboration, and curation.Sustainability
More than 75% of our business is within the circular economy — reviving, remarketing, and rehoming what already exists. We are and always have been committed to mindful consumerism and preserving the planet for future generations.Integrity
We are dedicated to stringent quality control, meticulous curation, honest descriptions, and transparent communication. We stand behind all of our products (and sit on some of them). Our Founder
Laura Weiszer received a B.F.A. in Illustration and began working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer after college. (If you're curious, her work can be found in American Illustration, 3x3, and numerous magazines and publications.)After designing fictitious product packaging for a Trojan commercial ad, she fell in like with the world of film and production and began working as a set decorator, prop master, scenic, art director, and production designer for commercials, music videos, movies, and T.V.
With a formal education in art history and design, plus years of professional experience buying for and building sets, Laura founded Betsu Studio in 2017, which soon gained national recognition for it's curation of eclectic, on-trend, and affordable home decor.
In recent years, Laura has had the pleasure of working on several residential and commercial interior design projects. She is available for hire on projects of all sizes and would love to hear about yours!
